The concept New Math by Craig Damrauer has been a favorite of mine for many years. Love the humor and simplicity behind the equations, specially “Modern Art = I could do that / Yeah, but you didn’t”. Some of the equations you can buy as posters from the online art shop 20×200. The work shown here is all for sale here.

The way I start an redecoration project is to choose one piece of furniture that I want to give the main focus. I have bought art for many years and I tend to take a piece of art as the starting point and then decorate around it. We have our own series here on Ideas To Steal called Art Friday where you get inspiration on where to by unique and great looking art on the internet. Go have a look if you need some tips.
In my bedroom I have a photo 1 x1 meter by Stein Henningsen above my bed (see the last image in the blogpost). The image is from Spitsbergen, I absolutely love it. It is like and extra window with a great view in the room. I have had it on a white wall and on a light gray wall, but the colors have never done it justice. It needs a dark backdrop to make the image pop-out and shine. So I have decided to go for a dark blue backdrop to make the centerpiece shine.
Step two of my process is to start collecting an moodboard, and the images showing here is my bedroom moodboard (Pinterest is great for this). All in blue. From dark walls in blue to more lighter rooms where the blue is just on the accessories. Not sure where I will end up. Should I keep it all white and blue? Or maybe I should add some yellow to the color palette. Or some black? Time will tell. I also find a great deal of inspiration in fashion and nature photography.
All images collected on our pinterest account, so to see the source go to Ideas To Steal Pinterest account. To see the rest of the blog post in my home makeover project click here.

Sometimes you need a change and as a interior “nerd” I am pretty sure I have a tendency more than others to rearrange furniture and elements, put paint on my walls and do easy DIY project at home. This time is no different. I got 5 projects on my schedule. My living room, bedroom, hallway, guest/office room and I am sanding my floorboards in my flat.
I thought it would be interesting for our readers to follow the decoration process from idea to finish. As for me I have a tendency to have many ideas and the end product never end up to be exactly how I though it would be. Usually it turns out better. I enjoy the process and design is something that emerge by itself in the creative process.
When it comes to “whats my style” I always have a problem answering that. Because it is somewhere between industrial and minimal design. I like clean lines, but I also think it is essential with personal touch to a home. The home should reflect who you are. So I can not pin-point a word that describes my style. Maybe I will be able to tell when my home makeover is finished.
I have started my redecorating project with going through the HOMES category on our blog and selected homes I love the style to. That inspire my in some way. If you click on the images you will get directed to the rest of the images from that home. Enjoy. All the post in this series you can find under this category: A journey of a home makeover.

Art Friday tipset denne gangen er Localgraphics. Grafiske kart over svenske byer, og byområder.
Art Friday tip today is Localgraphics. Graphic map of Swedish towns and urban cityareas. I have a connection to Stockholm and would have liked to have the map on the first picture. You don´t necessarily have to have a connection to the place, but just like the concept and the graphical expression. Localgraphics also has a selection of photo wallpaper with the same maps. Find prices and sizes on their website. Have a nice weekend!

You don´t have to have be a gallerist to decorate your home with art. What is important is that you find something you like, and something you can smile happily over to have put up on your wall. What characterizes the images below is that the art and the posters reflects the rest of the interior. And that is a result of following your own taste in selection of wall decoration, whether it is your own diy printed posters, old maps, or investment in art objects. Follow your heart and I can guarantee you´ll be satisfied.

Størrelse 38cm x 56 cm, ikke akkurat en standard størrelse, men det er med på å gi det noe unike uttrykket.Denne kan nok godt bli å se hjemme hos meg etterhvert. Design fra Custhom, pris 62 £.
