KALEIDO trays from Hay

I saw this Kaleido trays from HAY first time during the Stockholm Furniture Fair. I fell in love with the bright colors and the graphic shape. My first thought was that it would be perfect to serve food like tapas, it would without a doubt look good on any tablescapes. Or maybe it can be used as office accessories! Many ideas! Ssince they are made to fit into each other its easy to store.

Just Add Color – Inspiring video by Converse

A lot of brands incorporates art project in their branding. And the latest one is from the American shoe company Converse. I am a big fan of street art and graffiti (just take a closer look at my living room), so no wonder I like this video. Converse provided a numerous of billboards in the city of Berlin for street artist to decorate. I think it is a great way to show of talent and promoting something with a bit more value, than just a glossy fashion poster.  And what a great way to give the city some creative space and colors that just makes you HAPPY! Colourful and dynamic in 23 square meter

A fun and cheerful 23 square meter apartment in Paris. This living space is defined by vertical lines in three different shades of pastels. The lines creates a greater vertical volume. Furniture is customized to optimize the functional space. The pastel glass bricks let light flow into the small shower room. A very feminine and creative atmosphere.

Another Jamie concept – Union Jacks

Jamie Oliver is a well known name for most people, especially if you like a good meal. His latest concept is the Pizzeria Union Jacks and with him on the team he has got London based designstudio Blacksheep, who has already designed a number of his other restaurants. It has got a modern vintage look with neon Union Jacks sign above the cinema styled menu boards, the different patterns and graphics are typical retro, the chairs and the television is from the 1970s and the diner booth is so typical for a retro diner. The restaurant is situated in Holborn, so after finishing up with your shopping in Covent Garden head towards Tottenham Court Rd and stop for lunch.

A modern pastry

A modern designed pastry in San Pedro Mexico. At a first glance I would guess it was a fashionable makeup or perfume store, but that is of course before the close up at the pastries. It is some exciting meetings between materials and style. The old bricks against the back wall that is covered in golden wallpaper makes a great new meets old contrast. The round chandelier breaks up the rectangular shape and draws your attention to the high ceiling. A beautiful and surprising design to a pastry that started out as a home based bakery. Another great looking bakery is Kubitscheck in Munich, just another style. Or if you like the pure black/white style this ice cream shop in London also have a great retail look combined with good graphic design and branding.
