A few months ago I wrote about different cups with typography. In the end I bought these from Bolina.no. The ABC cups is from DesignLetters and the beautiful type is buy the one and only Arne Jacobsen. So from now all my future guest will get there coffee and tea in these cups!
Sometimes I come across products I just love. Like these set of 4 egg cups in my favorite material – concrete. The designer is Tove Adman who we have written about earlier on our blog with her other beautiful products in concrete. Første alternativ er fra Playtype, en online typen foundry etablert av det København-baserte designbyrået, e-Types. De håndlagde keramiske krusene er tilgjengelig i 62 forskjellige tegn. Typografien er i Venti Quattro og The Wave, skrifttyper designet av dem selv. Pris 18 euro stk. Det andre alternativet er Design Letters – ABC kopper. Fonten her er design av selveste Arne Jacobsen. Pris fra 15 euro. Selv om jeg er grafisk designer og typografi nerd, så klarer jeg bare ikke å bestemme meg … elle melle deg fortelle… hvem skal jeg velge?

Ja, du hørte riktig, denne lekre espressomaskinen er utformet i tre! Designet av Øystein Helle Husby som studerer på Arkitektur- og designhøyskolen i Oslo, dette er en av hans sisteårs oppgave. De ønsket å lage en norsk vri på kaffelaging. Kaffebønner er ikke å oppdrive i disse nordiske områdene, så de tenkte da får vi bruke design for å formidle dette. Og hva passer bedre enn å lage en espressomaskin i tre. Maskinen har samme funksjoner som andre maskiner, men designet skiller seg helt klart ut! Da er det bare å krysse fingrene for at denne blir satt ut i produksjon! Eller hva med en kaffemaskin i betong?
Yes, you heard correctly, this stylish espresso machine is in a great wood finish! Designed by Øystein Helle Husby who is studying at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, this is one of his last years projects. He wanted to create a Norwegian twist on coffee making. Coffee beans are not obtainable in the Nordic areas, so they thought why not use design as a tool to express the nordic feel? And what is more more appropriated than to create an espresso machine in wood. The machine has the same function as any other machines, but the design clearly stands out! Then I just cross my fingers and hope that this great product gets into production! Or how about a coffee machine in the concrete?
