How to get that hotel feeling in your bedroom

I am the first one to admit that I am not a fan of curtains anywhere in the house. I like clean dressed windows with blinds you can take up and down when you need it. BUT, it is a but. Used “right”, like on these images shown here, I think it looks fab. Hotels are using them in this fashion, so why not copy it and get that hotel feeling in your bedroom? So what are the clues? The height needs to be from ceiling to floor. Do not just frame the windows, but use them from wall to wall. Try to get the fittings hidden or incorporated in the ceiling. It also works great as a room divider, to soften up the space. Easy!

HOWAREYOU is a tiny swedish company design pillows. And I love their pillows. With the slogan “making hard things soft” all their  design is texture of hard elements like concrete, plywood, stone etc. My favorite is of course the concrete. Price is only 600 SEK for each pillow.

Ny utsikt?

What a fun product. Bring the urban skyline to your window at home in a decorative way. City views from Paris, Tokyo, Helsinki, Berlin and Stockholm. It might not hold of the light out, but then again you will get a beautiful pattern from the light into the room. Designed by Finnish Aalto+Aalto. Produced by Lukbox.

We all want one of these designer chairs, don´t we, but to afford it is another thing. An alternative are these decorative pillows with handprinted Eames, Bertoia or a Barcelona chair.
