Wood and orange hand in hand. This loft has an retro feeling to it. Just because of the orange colour drop; especially in one of the bedrooms. It is an open space planning, with a bookshelf dividing the guest bedroom and the kitchen. A warm atmosphere with a great personality.

Denne loftsleiligheten har så mange flotte detaljer som jeg nesten mister pusten av! Dette er en tre etasjes penthouse leilighet som ligger i Kiev, designet av 2B Group. Leilighetens grunnstruktur er i betong, og selvfølgelig elsker jeg det! Detaljer som vinstativet som er innlemmet i betongveggen. Den røde kontaineren fra MAERSK inneholder et bad. En innendørs vertikal hage bringer liv til huset. Betongbadet med graffiti-ikonet, og har du sett kranene? Vannet kommer ned i en liten pipe fra taket. Så kult! Uteområdet er også sofistikert og moderne. Og alt i alt, så synes jeg arkitektenes løsning på belysningen gjennom hele huset, både innendørs og utendørs er fantastisk og vakker. This loft apartment have so many great details that it completely takes my breath away! This is a 3-level penthouse located in Kiev, designed by 2B Group. The flats main structure is in concrete, so of course I love it! Details like the wine rack incorporated in the wall. The MAERSK red container stores the bathroom. A indoor vertical garden brings life tho the house. The concrete bathroom with the graffiti icon, and have you seen the taps? The water comes down in a small pipe form the ceeling. So cool! The outdoor area is so sophisticated and modern. And all over, how the architects has done the lighting thorughout the whole house, bith indoor and outdoor is just amazing and beautiful. Her er det noen som har tenkt litt utenfor de faste fire veggene. Den åpne planløsningen har blitt gjort om fra en stor flate til en leilighet med to soverom. Eller to små hytterom er kanskje riktigere å si. Løsningen gir to separate soverom uten å ta vekk den åpne romfølelsen. Og det gir, ikke minst, rommet et kreativt og lekent uttrykk. Man skaper et rom i rommet og det gir en ekstra takhøyde ved å illudere en slags type hems eller trehytte som det kan minne om. For å understreke hyttefølelsen er de grønne plantene plassert inn med tanke på en liten hage. Her skal det ihvertfall ikke stå på kreativiteten. The persons behind this project has definitely thought outside the norm of 4 floor-to-ceiling walls. The open plan studio has been transformed to a two bedroom flat. Or perhaps it´s more correct to call it two small bedroom-cabins. The solution provides two separate bedrooms without taking away the open feeling of space. And it gives, not least, the room a creative and playful expression. It´s a room within the room and it gives a more airy feeling as the walls doesn´t fill the room from floor to the ceiling, it reminds me more about the little treehouse you used to play in as a kid. The green plants just outside the treehouse emphasize the out-in-the-wood-feeling and associates to a little green garden. There is definitely nothing wrong with the spatial creativity in this room. Ikke en leilighet jeg umiddelbart hadde klassifisert som en loftsleilighet, det kommer nok av at vi ofte forbinder loftsleiligheter med skråtak og lavt under taket som så absolutt ikke er tilfelle her. I denne gamle fabrikkbygningen i Torino, Italia, er det store flotte vinduer, en mezzaninetasje innrammet i glass og høyt under taket. Mezzaninen skaper et åpent rom og gjør boligen lys og luftig. Not an apartment, I immediately had classified as a loft apartment, probably because we often associate loftapartments with sloping and low ceilings which definitely is not the case here. In this old factory building in Turin, Italy, it´s large beautiful windows, a mezzanine framed in glass and high ceilings. The mezzanine creates an open space and makes the home light and airy. The home is decorated with a strong and powerful expression, yet sober and formal. Project by Uda.

Nymoderne industriell rustikk velger jeg å kalle dette. Treverk er blitt et veldig in-materiale sammen med betong som her er brukt på gulvet (det skal ihvertfall se ut som betong). Arkitektene i YLAB har i denne loftsleiligheten blandet tre og betong med en gjennomgående murvegg som man oftere ser i rustikke og landromantiske leiligheter/hus enn i urbane byleiligheter. Det fungerer utmerket fordi de spiller på hverandres nyanser. Stolen og stålampen foran peisen utgjør et veldig moderne innslag med formspråket sitt og det lyse treverket. Og badet er jo bare fantastisk deilig. Det er lyst og stilrent, veldig kult at arkitektene har brukt mosaikkflisene også i taket og speilveggen får rommet til å føles dobbelt så stort. Det er ting man kanskje ikke tenker på eller legger merke til men se hvordan den gjentagende runde og kvadratiske formen skaper en helhet på badet. Alle vaskene er runde det samme er formen på dusjen. Skapene følger formen på flisene bare i større format og de avlange nisjene følger de rette linjene og det samme gjør skillene mellom speilene. Som sagt ikke noe man tenker over, men det utgjør helheten.
I dare to call this modern industrial rustic. Wood has become a very trendy material, especially when used together with concrete, which here is used on the floor (at least it gives a concrete look). The architects of YLAB have mixed wood and concrete with a longitudinal wall of bricks that is more often seen in rustic and shabby chic romantic styled apartments/houses than in modern and urban cityapartments. It works perfectly because of the same nuances in the different materials. The chair and the lamp in front of the fireplace gives a very modern touch to it all. The light wood and the shape of it is placed high on the trend barometer these days. And what is there to say about the bathroom, it´s just fabulous. Very clean and pretty, love that the architect has used mosaic tiles not only on walls but also to cover the roof with. The mirrored wall makes the room twice as big. There are things you might not think about or notice but see how the repeated square and round shape creates a unity in the bathroom. The sinks are round as is the shape of the shower. The cabinets follow the shape of the tiles but only in larger size and the oval niches follow the straight lines, as do the distinctions between the mirrors. As I said, no one thinks of it , but this apartment has a holistic approach to its design in every little detail.

Et minimalistiskt loft i svart og hvitt. Loftet er på 64 kvm. Interiøret er ganske maskulint, men tregulvet i fiskebens mønster og de hvite murveggene myker opp uttrykket og gir det alikevel et lite feminint preg. Det kontrastfyllte fargevalget får leiligheten til å virke ren og ukomplisert. Den store svarte sofaen får rommet til å virke større. Det svarte og hvite er også brukt til å skille kjøkkendelen fra loungedelen. Jeg har følgt med på flere av prosjektene til Tamizo architects group, og det minimalistiske har blitt en del av varemerket deres.
A minimalistic attic space in black and white. The loft is 64 square meters. The black and white interior is quite masculine, but the fishbone patterned floor and white bricked walls soften up the expression and gives it a feminine touch. The white contrasting with the black feels so clean.The black sofa is huge and actually make the room feels bigger. And they have used color (black and white is also colors) to divide the kitchen from the lounge area. I have been following several of Tamizo architects group projects and I would say that the minimalistic design have become their trademark.
